Ing Morokoth

Ing Morokoth graduated in 2017 from Royal University of Fine Art (Phnom Penh) with a Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology. In 2021, she received an Alphawood Foundation scholarship to undertake postgraduate studies in Asian Art at SOAS University of London. Continuing at SOAS, she received a MA studies in History of Art and Archaeology in 2022.

Recently, her involvement in the field expanded through contributions to CO-OP, further developing her passion for restitution work. Morokoth’s interest in this field took root during an internship at the National Museum of Cambodia. Over the last five years, she’s witnessed the successful return of numerous Khmer antiquities to Cambodia, piquing curiosity about the restitution process, especially considering the lack of reliable information around individual objects. Through participation on the internship team and volunteering in workshops centered on Biographies and Restitution (2022), a collaboration between the Southeast Asian Art Programme (SAAP) and SOAS, she hopes to gain an enriched understanding of the intricate processes involved in restitution.
